The imminent death of an old man doesn't succeed in changing the long-established interrelationships of his alienated family. Even so, confronted with the inescapable nature of an ephemeral existence, one by one, and for purely self-gratifying reasons, they briefly attempt to rebel against their own being.
Simon Farmakas lives and works in Cyprus. He graduated in June 1994 from the University of Wolverhampton in the UK with a Bachelor’s degree in Media Communications. Since then he has worked as an Assistant Director, Production Manager and 1st Assistant Director for many local and international short films, feature films, music videos and TV commercials. In 2006 he produced and directed the short film Airport for Sale, which was screened at film festivals in Rome, Oberhausen, Seoul, Morocco, Los Angeles and Limassol, Cyprus. In 2009 he directed his second short film Absent which premiered in Cyprus the same year. Rye is his third short film. He is currently working as television Producer/Director at CybC (Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation) as well as developing his first feature length film.
